2026 APHL Annual Conference Press Passes Now Available
Bethesda, Maryland, April 30, 2026 – The 2026 APHL Annual Conference kicks off in Baltimore, Maryland on May 4 through May 7. This event for the public health laboratory community brings together leaders, scientists, influencers and partners to share issues, trends and best practices driving laboratory science and public health today. APHL is especially excited about this year’s conference as it will also honor the organization’s 75th anniversary.

- APHL will welcome approximately 1,400 attendees to learn from over 50 sessions, 250 scientific posters and meet over 70 industry partners.
- The entire 2026 APHL Annual Conference will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center in downtown Baltimore.

- Katherine Kelley Distinguished Lecture: Monday, May 4 at 2:30 pm; In his presentation entitled, “The Rules of the Game, 2026,” Dr. Joshua Sharfstein, MD, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, will address how to make sense of the myriad changes in public health at the global, national, and local level.

- APHL Student STEM Event: APHL will welcome students from Baltimore’s Perry Hall High School and Nottingham Middle School on Tuesday, May 5. Students will join the conference to meet public health laboratory professionals and will participate in a hands-on scientific activity with industry partners.
- APHL Annual Awards Ceremony: Wednesday, May 7 at 8:15 am; The awards program highlights outstanding achievements in laboratory science, creative approaches to today’s public health challenges and exemplary support of laboratories serving the public’s health.
