Supporting Data Modernization of NNDSS
APHL is committed to developing innovative tools and data pipelines that ensure the national infrastructure used by NNDSS is responsive to the public health needs of tomorrow. We work in close partnership with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists to support NNDSS modernization efforts through our technical assistance program.
We engage with subject matter experts across multiple CDC national centers, jurisdiction partners and other key interested parties to accelerate the development and adoption of new-generation Message Mapping Guides for NNDSS case notifications.
We also provide technical assistance to public health agencies transitioning or upgrading surveillance systems, ensuring that case notification information is appropriately populated and mapped for subsequent transmission to CDC.
