APHL is a 501(c)(3) organization that represents a unique membership of over 1,600 members from public health, environmental, agricultural and other public sector laboratories. With a history of more than 70 years, APHL serves as a link between members, government health agencies and private sector partners working to strengthen the laboratories that protect public health and safety. With five levels of membership to choose from, there’s a place for everyone to support public health laboratory science and practice.
The APHL Sustaining Member Program is a recognition and stewardship program. A “Sustaining Member” is an industry or corporate entity that has an interest in public health, environmental or agricultural laboratories. APHL is grateful for the industry and corporate entities that invest in the public health community and help make our mission possible.
Sustaining Membership is open to for-profit organizations and corporate entities that provide services or products to member laboratories and support the mission and goals of APHL. This is a non-voting membership category. Sustaining Members are not eligible to join APHL committees. (Note: Sustaining Membership does not carry with it an APHL endorsement of a Sustaining Members’ products, services or activities.

Sustaining Members can present to a select committee for a direct engagement and educational session. Once the request has been approved, we will work with your team to schedule a date and time to present to the committee, workforce group, task force or communities of practice.
Exhibit at one of the APHL-sponsored conferences including our Annual Conference, which attracted over 1,100 participants in 2025.
