New Fellow Reminders

Please see the checklist for new Public Health Laboratory Fellows. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected]

Orientation

Orientation is housed in APHL’s Learning Center. Fellows are granted access on their first official day in the program, regardless of whether it is their first day physically in the laboratory.

Fellowship Handbook

You can refer to the 2026 program handbook for updated information regarding your fellowship program and your program checklist for program deadlines and reminders.

Plan of Action

Complete your Plan of Action form with your mentor within 30 days of starting your fellowship. This plan of action will be reviewed by members of the Fellowships Team.

Payroll

Fellows receive enrollment emails from our payroll system, ADP, within three business days of their start date. Payroll needs to be completed by the stated deadline to avoid receiving your stipend late.

To me, the APHL fellowship was a great bridge between school and professional life. It allows you to explore different areas of public health while also gaining experience to help propel you into the workforce.
– Demetria Yoder, Fellow at the New Jersey Division of Public Health and Environmental Laboratories

Reports and Forms

Check-in Reports

Fellows are required to complete a 30-day and 60-day check-in report. The primary purpose is to monitor the progress of the start of the fellowship and ensure the fellow is onboarding appropriately within their host site.

The check-in report will be sent to fellows by the Fellowship Team.

Quarterly Reports

Quarterly reports will be due every 90 days based on the fellows' individual fellowship timeline. Fellows will receive an email to complete the assignment.

Call for Photos

We are eager for photos and videos representing your Career Pathways experience! We are asking for photos and/or videos of Public Health Laboratory Fellowship participants as well as mentors on the job. That could be in the laboratory working hard or outside enjoying the company of your colleagues. APHL will use some of the pictures for promotional materials and social media. Any photos that represent your experience are welcome! Upload the files directly using this Dropbox link.
